INDIANAPOLIS, IN - At the National FFA Alumni Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana,
October 25-26, the Denmark FFA Alumni once again received a gold rating for
Outstanding Affiliate, Most Life Members in an Affiliate (504) and Most Total Members
in an Affiliate (524).  Paul Hazaert also received an Outstanding Achievement Award,
honoring the many contributions he has made to our organization.  Congratulations
to all Denmark FFA Alumni members on these honors and for the tremendous
support given yearly for our local Agriscience Department, Agriculture Education
students and the FFA.  Alumni members John Maternoski and Chris Pennings also
received their American FFA Degrees during the convention.

DENMARK IS GOLDEN AT NATIONAL FFA ALUMNI CONVENTION
DENMARK FFA ALUMNI HONORED
JANESVILLE, WI - The 2008 Wisconsin FFA Alumni Convention was held February 8-
10, Janesville, with over 300 attending.  This years theme was “Don’t Hesitate….Just
Participate.” Ken Seering was inducted as the 2008-09 State President.  Previous
State presidents from Denmark include Jim Sipiorski, Terry Petersen and John
Leiterman.

Joe Loritz, Denmark, received the Outstanding Achievement Award along with
Darlene Arneson, Stoughton.  Diane Fischl, Denmark, was honored with the
Outstanding Agriculture Education Instructor award and Jerry Wendt, Stoughton.   
Dr. Jim Heier, Denmark, was recipient of the Outstanding Contributor award.

In the affiliate awards, Denmark was the State winner in the Scrapbook division.  
Denmark and Stoughton received Gold awards in the Alumni Newsletter division with
Stoughton being the State winner.  Denmark received a Silver rating in the
Outstanding Affiliate competition with Brodhead being the State winner.

Denmark was also honored with a Gold rating by being the only alumni affiliate with
an increase of twenty five or more members this past year.  They also received the
Ann Martinson Memorial award for having the greatest increase in Life members in an
affiliate with forty.

Members from Denmark recognized with the Legion of Merit award for membership
growth efforts included Diane Fischl, James Grasee, Ann Kozlovsky, Joe Loritz, Joshua
Rusk, Ken Seering and Jim Wavrunek.

Paul Hazaert, Denmark, will continue with Janice Lefeber, New Holstein, as Section IX
State Council members for 2008-09.

Local delegates attended various workshops that included Agriculture
Education/Alumni Roundtable, Alternate Energy: Past, Present and Future, FFA
Alumni Leaders, Ag in the Classroom, and Farm Safety.

State officers include Immediate Past President, Dennis Jesberger, Sun Prairie;
President Elect, Ken Harter, Oconto Falls and Vice President, Herman Seebandt,
Neillsville.

2009 State FFA Alumni Convention will be held February 13-15, Ho-Chunk Convention
Center, Baraboo under the theme, “Making Headlines in 2009.”
